Meet the Team

John Black

Founder & CEO

John Black is a retired United States Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel with 26 years of service, an MIT National Security Fellow, and a Harvard Business School alumnus who has spent three decades leading people through the highest-stakes conditions imaginable — from combat deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan to earthquake and typhoon disaster response across the Pacific. He is currently Senior Emergency Management Coordinator for Orange County Health Care Agency, supporting preparedness and resilience for more than 3.3 million residents. As Founder and CEO of The JASSD Group — a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business — John brings that same disciplined, systems-thinking approach to organizational problem-solving, leadership development, and coaching.

Dr. Aime Black, PMP, RBLP-T

Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer

Dr. Aime Black is an organizational development leader whose work blends neuroscience, behavior change, and human-centered leadership to help individuals, teams, and organizations sustain optimal performance through complexity and ambiguity. She earned her doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California — where she received the Doctoral Dissertation of the Year Award — and completed the Stanford Graduate School of Business LEAD Program as a Distinguished Scholar. Her career has spanned U.S. Department of Education research, public engagement at the U.S. Embassy in Wellington, New Zealand, partnership with military families, and leadership of large distributed teams on NASA programs.
